myStampBOX: Canvas Corp Product Feature

Today is our second day of projects at myStamp BOX with product partner Canvas Corp, and my project is up!

(Click on photo for a closer look.)
I started with a harlequin red patterned card base from Canvas Corp. I just love their kraft products! I stamped out eight little doodle square frames from Itty Bittys and punched them with a square punch. I inked the edges with red ink and assembled them in a grid formation. The center square uses the heart stamp from the same set, colored with markers. I assembled the grid on a square of Love Words Canvas Corp paper.
I decided to have a little fun with the hearts in the center and stamped a second large heart to color. I cut it out and "hung" it from some jute with a mini black clothespin, both from Canvas Corp. After securing the jute onto the back of the Love Words panel, I layered it onto brown cardstock and a black pennant piece.

To create a simple sentiment, I stamped the letters I and U from Rustic Outlines and colored them in. Their doodled style works so well with the doodled frame from Itty Bittys. No matter what type of project you're making, myStamp BOX has the perfect alphabet stamps for you!

Be sure to stop by the myStamp BOX blog today for two more cards using our stamps with products from Canvas Corp. Happy stamping!

myStampBOX: Round Sketch Card

Today the designers at myStamp BOX are using a round sketch from Becky Fleck at Pagemaps with our awesome stamps to create all kinds of inspiring projects. Here's what I made for our sweet "baby boy" Matthew who turned eight yesterday. (Eight? Am I really that old?!?)

To simulate the stripes down the side, I stamped borders from Timelines and Graphic Borders. I especially love using Timelines on birthday cards or any project where the date is important. I stamped right onto the card and background paper all at once. Fellow design team member, Celeste, usually has a heart attack when I do that!

The monkey from Holiday Monkey was pieced together using two colors of cardstock and a little pink gel pen for the inside of his ears. I love flipping up his arm and gluing the hand portion there to give him a little depth. The gift is also from the same set. I stamped the sentiment from Mention It.

Be sure to visit the myStamp BOX blog today to see all the projects created with our chosen sketch. Happy stamping!

myStampBOX: Birthday Gears

We recently celebrated the birthday of my friend, Marty, and I made him this fun card for his special day. I was inspired by all the prompts at this year's Creative Jump Start, created and hosted by the super-sweet Nat Kalbach. I started with a piece of cardstock that was printed lightly with a grid design. I used a mask with bubbles and lightly sprayed with red mist to get the first layer of the background.

Then I used the hexagon border from Decorative Strips and black ink to stamp right across the center of the paper. I stamped the sentiment from Happy Word Jumble and mounted it on additional layers of cardstock. For a little texture and a final pop of pattern I glued on a felt gear. I just love how all the different geometric shapes play out on this card when paired with my favorite red and black color scheme. A little distressing on the edges makes this very obviously a Jolene creation. ;^) Happy stamping!

Winter finally came to Indiana and dumped some serious snow! Here's a layout with photos of our youngest son, Matthew, enjoying himself immensely in the frosty, white stuff. Details and supplies are listed on the Scrapbook {Express}ions blog!
