<br />
Today the designers at <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/" target="_blank">myStamp BOX</a> are sharing projects using collage stamping. I used a piece of coral paper from Bo Bunny's Baby Bump collection that had subtle flower outlines in the background. I used <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=177" target="_blank">Ornamental Flowers</a> and Pumice Stone Distress Ink to create more layers of flowers. I was totally confused by grey ink when it was released (<span style="font-size: small;">w</span>hy on earth would they make that?) As soon as I used it I was a complete convert! For this background I stamped the flowers once then immediately stamped again without reinking to get the second set of shadow images.<i> <span style="color: #f6b26b;"><b>Layers, people, layers!</b></span></i><br />
<br />
I added a black border across the center using <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=174" target="_blank">Decorative Strips</a>. The flower shape was similar to the background, and the deeper color helped the pattern stand out. The sentiment from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=123" target="_blank">Whatever</a> says exactly what it means - this card is for no reason at all except to say hi. I stamped the sentiment twice, once in teal and again in black to create a shadow effect.<br />
<br />

Sometimes the simplest gestures mean the most. Today I'm sharing a card I made for a friend who lost someone dear. The mesh border is from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=150" target="_blank">Repeat After Me</a>, the sentiment from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=40" target="_blank">Everyday Lines</a>, and the butterfly from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=70" target="_blank">Colorful Companions</a>. The butterfly was stamped onto patterned paper and embellished with a gentle touch of glitter pen and pearls. All stamps are available in the <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/" target="_blank">myStamp BOX</a> online store.Jolenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10868603947674836948noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3645897752003073341.post-17072878407713062712014-03-21T09:00:00.000-04:002014-03-21T21:16:03.186-04:00Design Team Feature: InksDesigners from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/" target="_blank">myStamp BOX</a> joined creative forces today to share projects featuring VersaColor Inks from product partner Tsukineko Co, Ltd. <br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I received Cardinal and Turquoise inks and loved the color combo. I found a piece of school-themed paper from My Mind's Eye with handwriting lines in the same colors, so that started as the perfect base for my stamped panel. I used the coffee swirl stamp from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25&products_id=164" target="_blank">Enjoy Your Latte!</a> along the top and bottom of the panel to create a graphic border. Thanks was stamped across the center using <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=109" target="_blank">Lots of Dots - Sentiments</a>.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This super cute nerdy bird comes from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25&products_id=165" target="_blank">Warm Tweets</a>. I stamped him in black and colored in all the details using Marvy le Plume II markers. I raised him up on dimensional adhesive to give some lift to the card and focal point image. I plan to use this card as a teacher thank you at the end of school this year.<br />

<br />
Today some of the designers at <a href="http://mystampbox.com/2014/02/dt-feature-celebrate" target="_blank">myStamp BOX</a> are sharing projects that celebrate special events. With all the hashtag craze in social media, I decided to use that symbol from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=21" target="_blank">Oversized</a> and letters from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=19" target="_blank">Friday Night Stencil</a> to create my card sentiment. I stamped the hashtag twice with two different colors of ink to give a shadow effect.<br />
<br />
Layered underneath the sentiment panel is a border made with washi tape and a month/date strip stamped from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=14&products_id=151" target="_blank">Timelines</a>. This set of stamps is particularly helpful for creating projects with exact months, dates, or days of the week.<br />
<br />

Here's what I made.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Eq-TQ2gRHwQ/Ut3owcvDiwI/AAAAAAAADNE/zcq0andx6ag/s1600/Sparkle-Jolene.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Eq-TQ2gRHwQ/Ut3owcvDiwI/AAAAAAAADNE/zcq0andx6ag/s1600/Sparkle-Jolene.gif" height="400" width="290" /></a></div>
<br />
My style can usually be described much like my life - grungy and a little bit distressed around the edges. This year I am stretching out of my comfort zone in an effort to try new things. For my "sparkle" card today I did not ink the edges of anything or distress any elements. I aimed for a clean, graphic design with bold designs. I think I got it!<br />
<br />
I stamped the square image from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=148" target="_blank">Back to the Basics</a> many times on black cardstock using silver embossing powder, then punched circles randomly from the embossed pattern. I layered them onto a premade blue card, making sure the black lines on the cardstock were "pointed" in different directions. I liked the look of this, especially with the zigzag lines of the patterned embossing. The sentiment from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=50" target="_blank">Small Greetings</a> was punched and layered onto black cardstock so it would stand out from the background. The final design touch was adding small, blue rhinestones in a floating pattern up the center of the card. I even attached one rhinestone in the middle of the sentiment.<br />
<br />

<br />
Today at <a href="http://mystampbox.com/2013/12/design-team-all-play-tags/" target="_blank">myStamp BOX</a> we are sharing projects featuring tags. Tags are especially helpful at this time of year and can be a decorative addition to gifts. I used a strip cut from a paint sample from the home improvement store as an embellishment down the side. I stamped sentiments from <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=89" target="_blank">Santa's Tags</a> directly onto the tag, overlapping the paint strip. <i><b>Click on the project photo for a closer view.</b></i><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/images/Santas%20Tags.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://mystampbox.com/store/images/Santas%20Tags.jpg" width="234" /></a></div>
<br />
The stocking was also stamped directly onto the tag using the <a href="http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=42" target="_blank">Dotty Christmas</a> set of stamps. I stamped the top of the stocking onto white cardstock, cut it out, and adhered it to the tag. The entire stocking image was covered with Stickles glitter glue for a little extra sparkle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I have been having a ton of fun decorating these letters for one of my very favorite places to shop in Fishers, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Best-of-Whats-Around/368139286573932" target="_blank">Best of What's Around</a>. This set features papers from <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-holiday-and-season-kfd/halloween.html" target="_blank">Karen Foster Design</a> and some adorable stickers I found in a local supercenter. I love that every set of letters I make is unique!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QJsj6xV6z5A/UjZwtwPX9fI/AAAAAAAADK8/8OmIdBgyGqI/s1600/BOO+movie+posters.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QJsj6xV6z5A/UjZwtwPX9fI/AAAAAAAADK8/8OmIdBgyGqI/s400/BOO+movie+posters.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
While the first set of letters was whimsical and juvenile, this set definitely has that retro flair! They also feature papers and stickers from <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-holiday-and-season-kfd/halloween.html" target="_blank">Karen Foster Design</a> in a horror movie poster theme. I added little touches such as filmstrip ribbon and tiny tickets to carry through the theme.<br />

<br />
I seriously can't stand how cute Matthew looks in this photo! It was taken on his first day of 4-year-old preschool. He was such a cool dude, even that young! I LOVED mixing together brand-new <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-life-events-kfd/school.html" target="_blank">school KFD products</a> with olders ones for this layout.<br />
<br />
There are papers for preschool-5th grade this year with matching stickers. I used the <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-life-events-kfd/school/writing-practice.html" target="_blank">notebook paper</a> and punched a "torn" border on the left side to give it a more traditional look. The <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-life-events-kfd/school/school-days-stacked-statement.html" target="_blank">Stacked Statement</a> makes a perfect title! I simply trimmed it in half so I could make the title fit the space that was available on my layout. I used stickers in several places and even added <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-life-events-kfd/school/school-rub-bits.html" target="_blank">Rub-bits</a> to look like doodling in the corners of the notebook paper.Jolenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10868603947674836948noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3645897752003073341.post-68082147250365041262013-08-07T17:00:00.000-04:002013-08-07T17:52:42.510-04:00Karen Foster Design: Zoo<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
I'm back today with another new scrapbook collection by <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd.html" target="_blank">Karen Foster Design</a>. Today, it's a <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-life-events-kfd/zoo.html" target="_blank">zoo</a> around here! <i>Be sure to click on any photo for a closer look!</i><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/1004919_614702095228412_1612970190_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/1004919_614702095228412_1612970190_n.jpg" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used several papers in this collection as well as the <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-life-events-kfd/zoo/what-a-zoo-stacked-statement.html" target="_blank">Zoo Stacked Statement</a>. I just love all the texture they have! I also strung together several colors of <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=spool&x=0&y=0" target="_blank">Scrappers Spools</a> with <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/brads-kfd.html?cat=1501" target="_blank">Crazy Coils</a> to create a banner of sorts. The baby chimp was dangling from a net, so I carried the idea along in my scrapping products. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://sphotos-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/1005774_614701948561760_1171219092_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://sphotos-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/1005774_614701948561760_1171219092_n.jpg" width="266" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next up is a thank you card with a zoo theme. I created a bit of a shadow box feel by die cutting a label-shaped hole and mounting the entire panel up on foam adhesive. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://sphotos-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/971938_614702078561747_2054726421_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://sphotos-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/971938_614702078561747_2054726421_n.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-life-events-kfd/zoo/zoo-stacked-stickers.html" target="_blank">Stacked Sticker</a> and <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=spool&x=0&y=0" target="_blank">Scrappers Spools</a> have a special place right in the center to shine! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://sphotos-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/971021_614701988561756_1228643783_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://sphotos-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/971021_614701988561756_1228643783_n.jpg" width="290" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the inside of the card I used more paper, a few <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-life-events-kfd/zoo/it-s-a-zoo-out-there.html" target="_blank">stickers</a>, and a <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/clear-stamp-sets/thanksgiving-clear-stamp-set.html" target="_blank">sentiment stamp</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/970174_614702085228413_2134045374_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/970174_614702085228413_2134045374_n.jpg" width="292" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My final zoo project is a decorated gift bag. The giraffe sticker with his long neck needed a special place to hang out, so I created a die cut panel of cardstock as his home. Layered papers, a sticker title, and <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=spool&x=0&y=0" target="_blank">Scrappers Spools</a> tied to the bag handle make this a unique gift wrapping. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<a href="https://sphotos-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/971499_597949613570327_1908044138_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="258" src="https://sphotos-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/971499_597949613570327_1908044138_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Today I'm starting a series of posts that share projects I made using some of the new summer CHA lines from Karen Foster Design. Today is <span style="color: red;">Christmas</span> in <span style="color: #274e13;">July</span>! <i> </i><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><i>Please click on any photo for a closer look.</i></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qbU66wCxMuA/UffCD_VdEMI/AAAAAAAADIo/TA86_vCzd4s/s1600/Happy-Holidays.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="386" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qbU66wCxMuA/UffCD_VdEMI/AAAAAAAADIo/TA86_vCzd4s/s400/Happy-Holidays.jpg" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First up is this layout. I sliced and diced two different papers to make the background and featured the adorable <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-holiday-and-season-kfd/christmas/holidays-stacked-statement.html" target="_blank">Stacked Statement</a> across the center.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tubv1gdUV_w/UffC6ldPu-I/AAAAAAAADI0/aOInX4OWwzc/s1600/Detail-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tubv1gdUV_w/UffC6ldPu-I/AAAAAAAADI0/aOInX4OWwzc/s400/Detail-1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Probably my two favorite things about Karen Foster Design products are any type of brads and their Stacked line of products. Here I added a red <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/brads-kfd.html?cat=1289" target="_blank">Birthstone Brad</a> and one <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-holiday-and-season-kfd/christmas/playful-swirl-dot-brads.html" target="_blank">Playful Swirl Dot Brad</a> (I call them the candy brads!) I also added the tree sticker on the end with some foam adhesive.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cv0lQx9EKWY/UffDeWf93PI/AAAAAAAADI8/o4mTZFYuDWg/s1600/Detail-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="255" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cv0lQx9EKWY/UffDeWf93PI/AAAAAAAADI8/o4mTZFYuDWg/s400/Detail-2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
On the other side of the title you can see the glittered letters and flocked Santa hat. I added the gingerbread boy and another Birthstone Brad. I just love those things!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QFkyzoUyvX8/UffEfIIgYqI/AAAAAAAADJM/kfTiF2u1y7g/s1600/Christmas+card+front.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QFkyzoUyvX8/UffEfIIgYqI/AAAAAAAADJM/kfTiF2u1y7g/s400/Christmas+card+front.jpg" width="352" /></a></div>
<br />
Next is this Christmas card. On the outside it appears to be a simple card with cardstock bands and a <a href="http://karenfosterdesign.com/scrapbooking-kfd/themes-holiday-and-season-kfd/christmas/tis-the-season.html" target="_blank">Sticker</a> sentiment. But the surprise is waiting inside....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1Iyc9JORSQ4/UffEzUEpVWI/AAAAAAAADJU/gr1cp6LcJII/s1600/Santa+pop+up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1Iyc9JORSQ4/UffEzUEpVWI/AAAAAAAADJU/gr1cp6LcJII/s400/Santa+pop+up.jpg" width="336" /></a></div>
<br />
This card has a pop-up Santa and sleigh! He's loaded down with toys and has even scattered some toys on the "floor" of this card. Behind him in the distance is a forest of snowy trees cut from papers in this collection. Pop up cards are my new obsession, and I had a blast creating this little scene.<br />
