Say It With Letters: Slow Down
Ok, how cute is this? When Deb from Say It With Letters sent me this unfinished snail to alter I wasn't quite sure which products to use. After digging through my stash I decided to go for something you could hang in a whimsical little boy's room. The papers are from My Mind's Eye, the button eyes from American Crafts, and the twine is Colorbok. The shell sparkles from clear glitter which is so tricky to photograph. Be sure to check out all the new DT projects at Say It With Letters as well as information about their current DT call. Good luck if you apply!

Varks + myStampBOX: Teamwork!
It's a new challenge day at Caardvarks! After all that blog hopping the last few days, it's time to settle down and make some cards. As you know from my own DT work, myStampBOX makes some AWESOME stamp sets!! For this challenge they are providing the Funky Flowers set of stamps to the winner:
CHALLENGE: Create a card using the colors in MyStamp Box's logo - Black, White, Pink
DEADLINE: August 31st, Midnight PST
Link up your creations back at the 'Varks blog to be eligible to win. Here's what I made for this challenge:
I used the Oval Office sentiments stamps from myStampBOX for this card. I layered a bunch of goodies together to make this card including a Die Cuts With a View scalloped card flat, Maya Road sheer bird, Little Yellow Bicycle fabric brad and Making Memories journaling sheet.
Can't wait to see what you make!

Caard Hop: Day 3
Hello, hoppers! Thanks for joining us for our final blog hop day with Caardvarks & Core'dinations! Participants will be entered in a drawing to win a Super Assortment Package of Core'dinations product (retail value $68.00). One prize package will be given away for each day!
Here's my final card featuring Core'dinations White Wash. I chose a sheet of aqua cardstock with their subtle White Wash finish over the top. I embossed with a snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder and sanded away the white from the raised areas. (Seeing a theme here?) Embossing folders are my very favorite way to play with Core'dinations in addition to regular sanding and tearing. They have a variety of collections - be sure to check them out! This card also uses the new 'Tis the Season line from Bo Bunny.
If you have landed on my blog from somewhere else, go back to the beginning and read up on all the rules and details. Here's the list of 'Varks DT and where you are in the hop:
Be sure to check out Daniela Dobson and her fantastic Core'dinations project to finish up our blog hop. Good luck in the prize draw!
But wait...there's more! Recently I made a demo video about Core'dinations cardstock for Scrapbook Express online store. Take a look!
And here's that card I mentioned at the end of the video. It also uses White Wash cardstock from Core'dinations.
All Core'dinations cardstock is 20% off at Scrapbook Express through August. Go check it out!
Just don't forget to visit Daniela's blog to finish up the Caardvarks blog hop. Thanks for hoppin'!

Caard Hop: Day 2
Hello, hoppers! Thanks for joining us for our blog hop with Caardvarks & Core'dinations! We are on day 2 of amazing projects. Participants will be entered in a drawing to win a Super Assortment Package of Core'dinations product (retail value $68.00). One prize package will be given away for each day! I'm also giving away a little RAK of My Mind's Eye goodies complete with some matching Core'dinations White Wash cardstock and solid colored mats (plus ribbon, flowers, die cuts, etc.) I'll draw a winner after the whole Caard Hop is complete. Here's a peek at the RAK:
Today's Core'dinations project takes a turn for the creepy. I {love} Halloween! This card features Black Magic cardstock with an orangey core. If you haven't tried embossing folders with Core'dinations cardstock you are missing some TRUE MAGIC! ♥ This one is the diamonds folder from Cuttlebug paired with new line called The Spider's Web from My Mind's Eye. I snuck in a QuicKutz spiderweb border and some flocked brads by 7 Gypsies. Copper and Icicle Stickles give it a delightfully wicked sparkle.

Participants will be entered in a drawing to win a Super Assortment Package of Core'dinations product (retail value $68.00). One prize package will be given away for each day!

Caardvarks: Winter with Hero Arts
It's challenge day at Caardvarks! The DT was treated to some of Hero Arts brand new release stamps from CHA, and we partied with these little babies. Hero Arts is extremely generous as a sponsor, so three cheers for HA! Check out their blog for awesome stamping basics, weekly videos and challenges.
Here are the projects I made using the new Hero Arts stamps. I stamped a variety of Christmas sentiments from their new Holiday Sayings set on an office supply tag with clear ink and embossed in white. I then inked with Fired Brick and Peeled Paint Tim Holtz Distress Inks and the ink blending tool to get the soft background. I love this technique! The card also features new Bo Bunny 'Tis the Season papers that are really fun.
This card is covered with new Bo Bunny 'Tis the Season papers, but the star of the show is the flocking! I stamped in glue with the new Antique Brocade Cling background stamp and added white flocking. The overall effect is subtle and super soft. The sentiment is also from Hero Arts.
For this project I went all frosty...Frosty the Snowman, that is! I stamped the Make Your Own Snowman onto white glitter felt and built him right on the snowy scene. My four year old son was helping that afternoon, and he suggested that Frosty get both googly eyes AND a red nose. I'm not sure if he was thinking about Rudolph or how red HIS nose gets when he plays in the snow, but it works for me!
Our challenge: Create a winter themed item, which includes holiday items.
Deadline: Entries must be linked via Mr. Linky by August 15th at Midnight PST.
Prize: Assortment of *new* Hero Arts Stamps

I also whipped up a little treat bag topped with matching tag for some cocoa. There are three script words in this set: Winter, Chill and Fun. I love the font that Hero Arts used! ♥
My final card was a little more streamlined. I cut the tree shape with my Cricut, stamped the brocade backgrounder and embossed with green powder. Although it's hard to see, there are tiny stamped iridescent snowflakes in the background as well.
There's lots more to see! The 'Varks DT created a sleighful of winter projects using Hero Arts stamps as well as some year-round ideas. Be sure to check out our Flickr gallery for tons of inspiration!

Pre-K Show
I realized that I haven't shared a layout in a while since I have been in card mode lately, so here's a layout I just made for the Bo Bunny "orange" contest. I LOVE their Grease Monkey line. I have been watching my best pal Carolyn use it for a while, and I finally got some in my secret sista kit from Beth. I have more photos to make a companion page for this layout, but since it will have pics of Matty's classmates I probably won't post it. Just thought I'd share! Details for this layout are here.
