myStampBOX: Crepe Tutorial Pt. 2

Welcome back for part 2 of my stamped crepe paper tutorial. I had such a great time making the first project that I decided to keep going! This was a fun way to coordinate my card and gift bag for a friend's baby shower. Her little man is going to have a jungle animal nursery, so the monkey and polka dots were fun to play with.

This project is eco-friendly!! I started with a shopping bag from Gymboree that had the perfect assortment of pastel polka dots.

I trimmed a piece of patterned paper just large enough to cover the name on the bag. I also inked the edges to match.

Using the dots from the Funky Circles set of myStampBOX stamps and the "teeny tiny hands" from Small Greetings I stamped all over the crepe paper with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass ink. This time I knew that I wasn't going to spray mist my ribbon, so I used a dye ink.

I turned the paper over and applied adhesive around the edges. I pleated and folded my crepe paper ribbon to attach it, being careful to orient my ribbon so that the words were right-side-up.

When the ribbon was applied all the way around the block, I attached the entire thing to the front of the bag to cover up the store name. I die cut the BABY letters from matching cardstock and adhered them right on top.

Here's the sweet card I made. I stamped the polka dot patterned paper with the same Funky Circles stamps in Tumbled Glass ink to help coordinate the look. The Small Greetings sentiment and some Divine Twine finishes off the card.

I used three types of Helmar adhesive for this project: tape runner, Zap Dots (for the monkey face and sentiment) and Acid Free Neutral Ph Liquid Glue to attach the fuzzy felt nose. Their products are awesome!

I hope you giving stamping on crepe paper a try. It's really easy and is fun to coordinate your projects!
