'Tis the Season with SAR

Fa la la la laaaa la la la la! (Are you actually singing? I was! )

Join us at (Some) Assembly Required this month for a new challenge. Many times the holidays mean an extended family meal. This challenge is all about helping your table shine a little brighter! We challenge you to alter something, candle holders, napkins, table runners, place mats and place holders come to mind, to add to your holiday table.

When you are done, take a photo of your beautiful creation and link it to us in the comments section of this SAR post by midnight on Dec. 31st. We will add it to our Holiday Table gallery. If it is easier for you, please email us a photo. On January 1st we will choose a winner who will receive a lovely RAK of holiday crafting goodies!

My little box is open inside - perfect for a flower arrangement, silverware bundles, breadsticks, candy canes...basically anything that will fit inside. I used paper and flowers from Making Memories and a Martha Stewart snowflake border punch. Click here for the details. Can't wait to see what you make!

September at (Some) Assembly Required

It's back to school time at (Some) Assembly Required. For September's challenge, please alter a lunch pail or similar container and link us up by midnight on Tuesday, September 30th. One lucky winner will receive an awesome prize pack filled with goodies!

This is a fun little project I made for my son, Ian. I printed messages on cardstock, then stamped and colored fun images of animals with books, pencils, etc. I'm going to be tucking these little "love notes" into his lunches as the year goes on. The cards are laminated to keep them clean from messy second-grade crumbs and spills so I can reuse them when possible.

This Challenge is Smokin!

Ok, pun intended! For the month of February we are asking you to alter a cigar box at (Some) Assembly Required. You can find these little beauties at local cigar shops, often for free. There are other types available at most of the big box craft stores, so check it out. Finished boxes need to be linked back to the SAR blog by Feb. 29th to be entered in the drawing for a fun RAK. This month's prize has lots of goodies to alter including a Maya Road chip album and a band aid tin. Fun stuff!

(Some) Assembly Required

I am proud to announce my participation in a new altered project challenge blog called (Some) Assembly Required. Each month my friends Jan and Patti will inspire you to create a new piece of altered art to share with the world. Our first challenge is to alter a clock. Link up your creation in the comments section at SAR or email a photo of your project to be included in a drawing for a prize. Let's get going...it's time!
