I'm not usually one for non-traditional Christmas colors, but this card has me gaga for purple! It was made for my best pal Cheryl of
Purple Bow Crafts fame. I used three types of
Core'dinations cardstock including Cosmo Cricket Naturals, Vintage and my very favorite Black Magic.
I stamped the background using embossing ink and myStampBOX's
Winter Flakes set covered with pale green Pearl Ex powder. The purple sentiment is from the
Straightforward set which, in my opinion, is a
must-have for any cardmaker.
The ornament is from the
Deck the Halls set - embossed with silver glitter Zing! powder, embellished with a Maya Road crystal pin and finished with silver ribbon I recycled from a birthday gift. In the end I think this is one of my favorite Christmas cards ever!
The card was made to accompany a gift I made for my friend Cheryl that was inspired by
this post from my stamping pal
Stef. I decided to make my own version of this awesome Christmas wreath with yarn balls featuring Cheryl's favorite color (
purple) with touches of white, silver and aqua. Here's how mine turned out:
Isn't that fun? I'm hoping that Cheryl will hang this in her craft loft and enjoy the sparkly goodness well into the new year. Our husbands say that we must have been separated at birth because we share a brain (which both delights us AND terrifies them.) I just want her to know how much she means to me and my entire family. She is the best!
♥ Merry Christmas, Cheryl!! ♥
